P2P escrow explained: how your money is protected
When you trade with a stranger, the big question is who goes first. Escrow answers it: the coins are locked by Velxen before any money moves.
What happens in a P2P order
- Order opens. The seller's crypto is moved out of their balance into escrow. They cannot spend it or send it anywhere else.
- Buyer pays. The buyer sends money by bank transfer directly to the seller, then marks the order as paid.
- Seller confirms. The seller checks that the money has arrived in their bank account.
- Release. The seller releases the escrow and the crypto moves to the buyer's Funding wallet.
What if something goes wrong?
- The buyer never pays: the order times out and the coins return to the seller.
- The buyer paid but the seller does not release: the buyer opens an appeal. Our team reviews the chat and the payment proof and can release the coins to the buyer.
- The money never arrived: the seller opens an appeal instead of releasing. Coins stay locked until it is settled.
Why it works
The seller cannot run away with your money while keeping the coins, because the coins are already locked. And the buyer cannot take the coins without paying, because only a confirmed payment, or our team after an appeal, releases them.
